Incubator Moment From Raven Kauffman

From Raven Kaufman of the Los Angeles Incubator. She designs handbags and her debut collection can be found at Raven Kauffman Couture.

I would like to invite you all to view my premiere collection of couture handbags Raven Kauffman Couture.   Thanks to the amazing support of the Ladies who Launch femme fatales I was able to make my dream of starting a handbag collection a reality. And a very ,very special thank you to the lovely and inspiring Sarah Shaw for giving me the courage, confidence and tools that I needed to realize this dream! Just knowing that there was this brilliant group of intelligent, strong and driven women out there pursuing their dreams the same way I was gave me this unstoppable energy to follow through. Failure was never an option- the invisible force field of Ladies Who Launch kept me going!

Fashion Tips From Susan Sommers of Dresszing

Susan Sommers of DressZing offers fashion tips on her website and newsletter.

PEARL JAM
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. At this time of year, my thoughts turn gratefully to all of you whom I've had the privilege of being associated with. Thank you for letting me be part of your life. Because "What jewelry should I own?" is one of the questions I'm constantly asked, I decided to talk about my favorite jewels, which I think are always right for every taste, job, industry or occasion: pearls.
Here's why:

  • Pearls never go out of style
  • They're available at every price point
  • They don't have to be real
  • Depending on how you wear or pair them, they can be sporty or dressy
  • They flatter every skin tone
  • They come in all sizes and lengths
  • They're extremely versatile

I received my first pair of cultured pearls when I graduated college and each pearl was 8 mm, or medium-sized. Because I viewed them as special, I rarely wore them, and that was a shame because pearls become more lustrous with wear.  Many years later I began treating them less reverently. In the 80s, I would pile faux pearls on and wear my real pearls with them. I often still do that 20 years later, varying the lengths and sizes, even mixing them with gold chains or lengths of chain and other stones.

Incubator: Eleanor Seaman

Eleanor Seaman is a member of the New York Incubator. You can check out her dresses at I Miss The 70s. She tell us about her Incubator Experience.

The incubator was wonderful.  Everytime I was there, I got an injection of positive energy and meet fabulous women with emerging business who I could bounce questions off.  My product is
a cotton tie-dye dress - a contemporary alternative to Lily Pulitzer. This dress has a splash of color with a touch of bohemian and lots of personality.  It's the warm weather staple for women of all ages. Refined yet groovy which makes them irresistable.  Girlie and feminine, but as comfortable as sweats!
